Fire Fighting Equipment

Norway's international ships service specialist Unitor is believed to be among the first to supply shipboard fire fighting equipment which meets the European Union's (EU) type approval for its new Marine Equipment Directive (MED). The MED requires approval of marine equipment used onboard ships registered in the 15 member states of the EU, as well as Norway and Iceland.

The majority of Unitor's fire, rescue and safety products are subject to the new MED: lifebuoys, life jackets, immersion suits, thermal protective aids, lifebuoy lights, pyrotechnics, inflatable liferafts, portable fire extinguishers, specialist fire-fighting clothing and air breathing apparatus.
